MIDI-BACCARÁ
Midi-Baccarat is an elegant, simple game to play. The rules for Midi-Baccarat are the same as for big room Baccarat, however, in Midi-Baccarat players sit down at a “U” shaped table and a single dealer handles the game.
There are only two decisions the player has to make in this game: how much you want to bet, and whether to bet on the “bank” or the “player”. The dealer handles the rest. If the player bets on the bank, the casino will collect a 5% commission on all money won.
The player may make an additional wager on the “tie”, betting the two hands will end in equal totals. A winning tie bet pays 8 to 1. The object of the game is to bet on the hand whose point total is closest or equal to nine. All cards 2 through 9 count at face value. All face cards (Jack, Queen and King) and 10’s count as zero. Aces count as one.
The game begins as four cards are dealt alternately from the shoe. The first card is dealt to the player, the second to the bank, the third to the player and the fourth to the bank. If the point total of either hand is eight or nine (face cards and 10’s count as zero), the hand is a natural and no other cards are dealt. The drawing of additional cards, if necessary, is done by strict Baccarat rules. Under no circumstances will more than one additional card be dealt to either hand. If the hands end in a tie, neither hand wins and only the bets on “tie” are paid.
Each hand is called out by the dealer so as to ensure proper procedure.
